Topic Title         What are these codes/dates in the corners of the photos?
2021-09-21 16:50:57 Dannny98 So I've been looking at some of the photos, and at the edges/corners, there seems to be some kind of codes that are stamped to the original photo. one looks like a date, (the one at the bottom that reads 4-23-80). Is that one the date the photo was taken on? And what are the other codes for? Link for what I'm talking about: https://imgur.com/a/jpJtP5u Thanks

Depends on the film and source.  There are several optoins, and most film has something.  Sometimes it's on the film, sometimes it's on the collar around the film.  We try to cut most of this out, but there are several out there already on the site.  It can be a date, camera info, scale, project codes, roll numbers, image numbers, project type, film source.  We have film with complete sentences written around the film in the black collar, and other film with nothing more than an image number.  It's best to disregard them.  Most likely they were missed early in our process development, or they were left because it would have cut out some good quality image to remove the stampped data.
